Title:European Hand Painted Snuff Box 18th/19th C

Size:2 7/8 in (7.3 cm) diameter x 1 1/4 in (3.2 cm) tall.

Description:A colorful very old snuff box with a romantic theme on the cover.

The wooden round top and bottom has been covered in a red lacquer like coating and over-painted with a romantic scene of a boy and girl in a wooded copse. The dress looks straight out of the 18th century. The inside of the lid has a silver like coating. The bottom of the box has a coating like suede. The base is flat and has the same red coating.

MEASUREMENTS
2 7/8 in (7.3 cm) diameter x 1 1/4 in (3.2 cm) tall. Weighs 1.8 oz (50 g)

CONDITION
The interior flange edge of the box base has a piece missing. The edge of the interior has other nicks and wear. The painting of the boy and girl have losses. The outside of the box has losses to the red on the edges, top and base. The interior top has losses on the silver coating. This box has been through much time and use and it is a wonderful surviving object.

A colorful, very old object to add substance and age to your home decor. I would love to hear the stories this box has to tell.
