Title: Oil painting Spacious field Oleksiy Ivanyuk Description: No.AAA5656The Oil painting Canvas titled “Spacious field” opens a window into the grandeur and quiet dignity of the natural world, depicting a vast meadow under a sweeping, dramatic sky. The artist uses rich impasto brushwork and earthy tones to render a landscape that feels alive with movement and depth, where every brushstroke evokes the tactile presence of tall grasses, grazing animals, and the changing sky above. This work is not only a depiction of rural life but also an exploration of scale, light, and the harmony between land and sky. In the foreground, the tall grasses dominate, painted with heavy, layered strokes of ochre, brown, olive, and touches of orange. These textured marks give the impression of the grasses swaying in a gentle breeze, filling the lower half of the canvas with energy and density. The grasses feel almost overwhelming in their abundance, symbolizing the richness of the earth and the cycles of growth that sustain life. Occasional flashes of green and yellow cut through the dominant browns, adding variety and vitality to the field, while the bold texture captures the sensation of walking through a meadow, where every blade brushes against the skin. Scattered across the central section of the canvas are grazing animals, their darker forms standing out against the lighter field. Painted in deep reds, browns, and blacks, these figures are integrated seamlessly into the landscape, yet they provide focal points of interest within the expanse of the field. Their presence suggests a peaceful coexistence between humans, animals, and nature, where life unfolds quietly and harmoniously. The way the animals are depicted—partly absorbed into the tones of the field—emphasizes both their smallness within the grand space and their essential role in completing the pastoral scene. The trees in the background rise in deep purples, greens, and browns, painted with expressive strokes that suggest both solidity and movement. They frame the horizon, offering a natural boundary between the field and the sky. These trees serve as silent witnesses to the life below, grounding the composition while adding a layer of depth and perspective. Their darker tones contrast with the lighter, more dynamic sky, enhancing the overall balance of the scene.
