Description
Slightly under 3/4" (0.71”) height including the suspension loop. Cusped tope and heart form, made of a trefoil (three leaves). The trefoil was a very popular Viking motif, incorporated in half or more of Viking hearts. This is the only one made of a trefoil that we have encountered. Made by the open face mold technique with flat back. The heart stood for bravery, fortitude, loyalty, integrity, all attributes of the Viking warrior. It is abundantly referenced in Viking literature. Mold made and in exceptional preservation. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold restored on a gilt neck chain for contemporary wear. Gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
