The period of Christ, and the persecution of Christians. Just over 1 5/8’ (1.69”) in length including the suspension loop. Finely delineated hilt with a bulbous pommel, waisted grip, and flared cross guard. Tapered blade, pierced for suspension. Said to represent the Roman gladius sword, these were awarded to Roman soldiers wounded in battle. Professionally refurbished with the silver surface restored. On an 18” Sterling silver neck chain for modern wear. Jewelry gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
