VIKING WARRIOR'S WEDDING RING AS FOUND, 900-1050 AD, SIZE 8

Description

Bronze, size 8. 5.8mm width with low rounded face. Made with a core filling the inside which distributed the flowing metal and allowed for slower cooling. The core was then laboriously removed by hand and the inside of the ring was polished. Remnants of the core are clear inside the ring. Seal-coated for modern wear, otherwise untouched is found with a stable green patina and is typical of the condition that our ancient rings are in before refurbishing.
