Description

17th-18th century, Orthodox rite. Silvered bronze, about 1 3/4" total height. Relief decorated with raised edges to the front enclosing a vacant cross with circle (halo) at the center and cipher(?) panels to the beam ends. Reverse flat and undecorated as with the earliest examples. Surface textured from burial. Professionally refurbished with the silver surface restored and on an 18" modern Sterling silver neck chain for contemporary wear. Jewelry gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
