1942 Züllichau/Pomerania - Mask and Ball - Acrylic/fiberboard. 52.5 x 39.5 cm. 57 x 44 cm (dimensions with frame). Signed and localized lower right: Keil / Berlin. Framed. Raised in Berlin, he was taught by the painter Otto Nagel from 1954 to 1956, trained as an art locksmith in 1956, and studied at the Berlin University of the Arts from 1959 to 1961. His studies brought him together with artists such as Baselitz, Fetting, Lüpertz, and Schönbeck, and with his expressively colorful works, he is considered one of the "Jungen Wilden" (Young Wild Ones) of the 1970s. From 1962, stays abroad took him to Mallorca, among other places, where he met Joan Miró and was repeatedly invited to his studio.
