The brooch is a sprial with the enameled green and red transparent design. It is appx. 2.5" across. The screwback earings are drop earrings have the same domed rope accent as the stud and the drop is a single petal as is in the brooch. This is gold over sterling and tests as sterling with a total weight of 24.26 gr. The age is 1910'S-1920's with a ClClasp. It is signed JGK and marked .925 Johan G. Kjaerland JGK worked out of Norway from 1900-1920. He did much gilt sterling plique a jour brooch in very fine condition. "Plique à Jour" - in French this means "letting in daylight." This is a technique where enamel is applied in cells - with no backing - similar to cloisonné, but these pieces have no backing so that the light shines through like a stained glass window. Very good conidtion with the vintage look. (W111922.2X2 SS8901 J LD 11/21/22).
