Description: Vintage Sterling Abalone Fish Drop Earrings, Screwback, 1960's-1970's. The fish has an open middle to the body and is appx. 1-5/8" long and 1/2" wide at the tail. The fish tests as sterling. The screwback mechanism as an inlaid abalone 5.5mm round dish on front - it is silver tone but does not test as sterling as the fish does. The fish is signed Taxco, Mexico and .925 with FE initials in the center. The fish together have an appx. weight of 6.50 grams. Did not remove from earring tops to weight but tried to not include the screwbacks in the weight. Very nice 1990's earrings that have ongoing appeal today. The sterling is slightly oxidized and can be polished. Good to very good condition. (W32517.1X1 SS15014 J LD 11/28/24).
