of rectangular form, the hinged lid centred with a mosaic floral spray within multiple geometric borders, the sides inlaid with continuous bands of floral marquetry against a dark ground, the burr walnut body with boxwood stringing, the front fitted with a central escutcheon,the underside retaining the original printed paper label 'T. BARTON NYE... MOUNT EPHRAIM AND PARADE TUNBRIDGE WELLS''.

19th century, of rectangular form, veneered in finely figured rosewood, the hinged lid with a central brass cartouche, the front inset with a shaped brass escutcheon flanked by stylised inlaid motifs, the sides fitted with cast brass ring handles, raised on compressed bun feet, the interior covered in silk, the padded lid with pleated silk within a gilt-tooled border
