BRAQUE GEORGES: (1882-1963) French painter who played a significant role in the development of Cubism and whose work between 1908 and 1912 is closely associated with that of his colleague Pablo Picasso. An excellent vintage signed and inscribed 5 x 7 photograph of Braque standing in a half-length pose within his studio, one of his paintings positioned on an easel partially visible in the background. Signed in dark fountain pen ink to a slightly darker area at the base of the image and dated Paris, 1938, in his hand. Braque, perhaps realising that his signature to the recto lacked definition, has again signed and inscribed the verso in bold, dark fountain pen ink, ´Mes bons souvenirs à Monsieur et Madame Molselio, G Braque´, again adding the place and year, Paris 1938, in his hand beneath his signature.
