
POLAR EXPLORERS: A good, unusual oblong 8vo page removed from an autograph album individually signed by four prominent polar explorers, comprising (in order of appearance from head to foot) Roald Amundsen (1872-1928) Norwegian polar explorer, a key figure in the Heroic Age of Antarctic Expedition and the first man to reach the South Pole, 14th December 1911, Ernest Shackleton (1874-1922) Anglo-Irish Antarctic explorer, Edward R. G. R. Evans (1880-1957) 1st Baron Mountevans. British Admiral and Antarctic explorer, second-in-command on Robert Falcon Scott's ill-fated Terra Nova expedition to the South Pole in 1910-13 as captain of the expedition ship Terra Nova, and Douglas Mawson (1882-1958) Australian geologist and Antarctic explorer, a key expedition leader during the Heroic Age of Antarctic Exploration.
