Description

Carved human leg bone dagger from the Upper Sepik River region of Papua New Guinea, dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. The hilt is intricately carved with stylized ancestral and geometric motifs, terminating in a sculpted head form. The blade retains a deep natural patina with areas of red pigment visible within the central groove. Length 13 1/4".
