Description

Circa 1890 quarter sawn oak sideboard/buffet with four drawers over two cupboard doors with backboard/mirror and upper shelf. Backboard crest with carved foliate (tobacco leaf or acanthus) decoration, cornucopia carvings, and carved lion heads and paw feet. Original brass hardware with working key. Two bail handles missing, one brass castor missing, and one upper drawer unable to open and one unable to fully close. Several small losses to finish, otherwise good condition. Measures 60 inches wide x 24.5 x 75 inches tall. Provenance: Historic Ingles Castle, Radford, Virginia.
