
Description
A silver mounted mantel clock modeled in the form of a traditional drum, raised on a lacquered stand with gilt decoration. The circular case is framed by applied silver mounts and surmounted by a flame form crest, evoking ceremonial drum iconography. The white enamel dial bears Roman numerals and blued steel hands. The reverse reveals a gilt brass mechanical movement. The case sides are ornamented with studded borders, reinforcing the drum motif. Accompanied by a fitted wooden storage box inscribed “Imperial Presentation Piece" and identifying the object as a drum-form silver clock formerly belonging to Prince Tsunehisa.
