Description
A Ko Seto chaire of elegant, slightly tapering ovoid form, covered in a rich iron brown glaze flowing unevenly over the surface. The glaze gathers deeply around the shoulder and neck, creating natural tonal variations from warm amber to dark chocolate hues. The lower body reveals the unglazed, sandy foot characteristic of early Seto ware. The compact neck rises to a neatly finished mouth. The restrained silhouette and subtle glaze effects reflect the aesthetic sensibility associated with medieval Seto production, valued in the context of tea ceremony for its quiet strength and natural surface expression. The piece is accompanied by a tomobako bearing an appraisal inscription, further supporting its attribution. An understated yet dignified example of Ko Seto tea ware suitable for tea practice and connoisseurship.Height: 8.7cm Diameter: 5.6cm
