Description
Signed document by Andrew Carnegie, dated May 14, 1902, measuring approximately 9 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches. The printed form, produced by Charles Skipper & East of London, is an application for admission to the Freedom of the City of London by redemption in the Company of Plumbers. Carnegie has completed and signed the document in steel-tip fountain pen, listing his residence as Skibo Castle, Sutherland, N.B., and signing prominently at the lower right.
Executed during the height of his later philanthropic career, the document reflects Carnegie's continued ties to Britain and his standing as one of the leading industrialists and benefactors of the era. His bold signature presents well against the off-white printed form.
Comes with a full Letter of Authentication from JSA (ZZ25071).
