Description
Antique James Dixon & Sons silverplate and crystal cruet set from the 1890s. The set includes a mustard pot, a shaker, an open salt cellar, and a cruet, all held in a beautiful silverplate stand with a lovely ruffled or scalloped edge and ball feet. The marks on the bottom of the tray include the James Dixon & Sons logo with a trumpet and banner, as well as the letters EPBM, which stand for electroplated Britannia metal.
Condition:
Alterations: Original Condition Unaltered
Imperfections: Some Imperfections
Condition Notes: The crystal pieces are in great condition, except for a small chip on one of the corners of the cubes on the mustard pot. Very hard to see due to the cube design. There are no other chips or cracks in the accessories. The silverplate tray has some wear and pitting, but these are only visible under the accessories and are not noticeable once they are in the stand. Overall, the piece shows appropriate signs of wear due to its age and use. It maintains a nice patina and presents beautifully. Please take a close look at all the photos as they are an important part of the item's description.
