This luxurious Bagh Phulkari shawl features beautiful fine silk embroidery with a diamond pattern on a cotton fabric. This fine antique Indian Phulkari throw was made by women in Punjab as wedding shawls, a cherished part of a bride's trousseau and a symbol of love and blessings bestowed upon her. Phulkari means "flower work" in Punjabi, and it describes the technique of creating intricate floral and geometric designs on fabric using bright and bold colors using natural dyes like turmeric.

This vintage Phulkari shawl show signs of wear, including small rips or mends.
