Clad entirely in rich oxblood and burgundy-toned leather, the box is formed with a highly distinctive gadrooned base, each lobe accented by delicate gilt tooling. Raised on four canted feet and secured by a functioning lock and key with gilt escutcheon, the form evokes both Baroque exuberance and 20th-century luxury novelty. The box also includes a musical element and can be turned via the key on the bottom.

The domed lid is trimmed in gold tooling and features a central neoclassical flourish of scrollwork and dot detailing, all hand-applied.
