An Indonesian pair of carbonized ironwood columns from the 19th century. These antique pedestals from Indonesia have squared bodies, which have been created from reclaimed Merbau wood which has been carbonized by a high heat treatment, giving it a wonderful rich, black patina and improved strength and resistance (hence the name "ironwood"). The tops are primarily smooth and flat, with bodies having open crevices, providing a wonderful organic surface texture. These 19th century carbonized-wood pedestals, each standing approximately 2.5 feet in height, would make fabulous display pedestals for art, or wonderful drinks tables within a seating arrangement.

The dimensions vary slightly, with one column being 9.5"W x 9.5"D and the second column being 9"W x 9"D.
