A finely preserved late-Victorian Art Nouveau oil lamp, attributed to Hinks & Son of London (est. 1865), one of England's foremost makers of duplex and patent self-lighting lamps.

The burner is clearly marked "HS", denoting Hinks & Son, and retains the firm's signature duplex burner assembly with functional dual wicks. The piece includes its original clear glass oil reservoir, inner glass chimney, and frosted outer shade, all intact "” a very rare level of completeness, as most examples have lost their glass elements over time. The presence of oil remaining in the reservoir further attests to the lamp's operational status and authenticity.

This is a museum-grade example of a fully functional Art Nouveau oil lamp by one of the period's most important makers. The completeness of its original glasswork and the survival of its duplex burner make it both a decorative and mechanical rarity.
