I bought this fabulous piece about 30 years ago at a high end auction in San Diego. I remember the auctioneer commenting that it belongs in a museum & said the former owners purchased it in France It is an amazing work but I don't really know much about it. It has the appearance of ceramic but might be terra cotta.

It is in nice overall condition with the only apparent flaw being scuffing on top of the head which could be restored.

It has always been what I call a "show stopper" in my home. It's an important piece and will draw immediate attention (and compliments) in any room you choose to display it in.
