12 Belle Époque Gilt Floral Crystal Tumblers, Suitable for Champagne/Wine

An elegant matched service of twelve gilt floral tumblers, dating to the Belle Époque period, circa 1890–1910. Each clear glass vessel is decorated with a continuous band of hand-applied gilding around the rim, from which descend garlands of blossoms and trailing foliage. The floral motifs include daisies, asters, and sunflower-like blooms interspersed with smaller florets, berries, and fern-like sprays"”an opulent pattern evoking festivity and abundance. The gilt decoration was carefully stenciled and hand-finished, then fired onto the surface to create a luminous and durable finish, further enhanced by fine gilt bands at the lip and base.

At 4 inches tall, these tumblers are perfectly sized for serving wine, champagne, punch, or cordials and would have formed part of a luxurious dessert or after-dinner service in a fashionable Belle Époque dining room. Their versatility makes them equally suitable for modern entertaining, where they sparkle beautifully under candlelight.

Unmarked but in the style of celebrated workshops such as Moser (Bohemia), Baccarat, or St. Louis (France), whose artisans specialized in richly gilded floral glassware for the international luxury market of the late 19th century.

Condition: Excellent antique condition, with bright gilding and only minimal wear consistent with age and use (please refer to photos).
