Vintage Oval Nantucket Lightship style basket, featuring a wooden base and finely woven rattan cane.
Nantucket baskets were first crafted by crewmen aboard lightships in the 1800s.

They are unique to Nantucket Island in both style and craftsmanship.

This basket is tight woven wicker in an Oval in shape. Wood bottom. & Opening on sides as handles.
