This is an eye catching pair of silver plated pheasants likely from the mid century. They hail from the estate of a couple who lived in the orient and amassed a huge collection for their home.
Each bird has fine detail with the featherwork, long tail feathers and expressive postures. The wings are hinged allowing interest and shoeing fine craftsmanship.
The birds have a soft patina which we have chosen not to try to polish. Their size creates an impressive display for a console or mantle.
We found no marks which would not be uncommon for such items made for export during this time period.
The running bird is 22" long and the standing one is 16" long.
