Description

Alaska, 19th century, the knife featuring an iron blade secured to a bone handle with tight hide wrapping. The broad blade exhibits a darkened, time-worn patina. The haft shows smooth wear from prolonged handling, and the bindings remain largely intact. Lg. 18 in. Provenance: Private collection, Connecticut; Skinner, Boston, sale 2596, lot 248.
