Jayeola Joshua (b.2000), is a talented visual artist born and based in Lagos, Nigeria, with his roots from Osun state. Having obtained his national diploma (ND) from the Polytechnic Ibadan, Joshua furthered his education at Yaba College of Technology, specializing in painting and earning a Higher National Diploma (HND). He had his training under the organization "Universal Studio of Art in Nigeria" and also under his mentor "Mr Abdulsalam Abdulkareem". ARTIST STATEMENT Working primarily with acrylic, oil, and charcoal on canvas, Joshua employs curved lines in his compositions to convey a sense of comfort and explore the psychological states of the individuals he portrays. He's also an experimental artist the red colour which is always vivid in his works depicts ranges of emotion and psychological meaning and also speculates on his personal experience. The themes he explores mostly in his works are cultural values, social issues, lifestyle and self-identity. His work invites viewers to reflect on the human condition and find solace amidst life's challenges.
