Dark Grapes with Applies, 1990, 30" x 36" oil on canvas (framed size: 33" x 38-1/2") signed/dated lower left: Otari 90. Frame has nicks and discolorations, lower right corner liner has been reglued and can possibly come loose again. Ships in the frame for $95.00. If you don't want the frame we can discard it and ship the painting only for $70.00. Old huge price on the back of $90,000.00.
Otari Shiuk (formerly Shiukashvili) was born in 1921 in Tiblisi, Georgia. Art enthusiasts have called Otari's work "Russian Realism" though it has also been referred to as "Russian Impressionism." Otari's choice of colors and simple compositions sparked his sensitivity to beauty. In academic language, his works are aesthetically wonderful and pleasing to the eye and soul.
Otari's paintings have been sold to private collectors all over the world. He spent most of his life in the United States and had studios in NYC and Washington, D.C.
