World War Two United States Marine Corps VMF-(N) -543 Marine Night Fighting Squadron patch. The patch is silkscreened on leather with embroidered edge. measures 4.5" x 4". Established as VMF-(N)-543 on April 15, 1944. Nicknamed the "night hawks" the squadron flew the Grumman F6F-5N Hellcat. They participated in the Battle of Okinawa flying night air patrols do defend against night bombing raids and kamikaze attacks. Pick up is Sunday, March 29 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
