Imagine curling up in your bed and reading your favorite book, by the light of this dreamy reverse-hand-painted, boudoir lamp"¦
This lamp features a repeating landscape scene, filled with a rolling, tree-covered background and pathways. Beautiful when turned off"”and even MORE stunning when it's lit, at night!
Reverse-painted, means that it was painted on the inside of the shade and signed by the artist, D.D.Orio, on the outside. There are a few details that should not be overlooked:
The tiny "acorn" pull at the end of its chain.
The four delicate "feet" on the lamp's base, w/felt pads.
Lastly, the gold metallic paint on the lamp's base.
The shade's dimensions are 8" in diameter, with a height of 5".

Condition Notes: The shade is in brilliant condition, only minor rub-marks, no chips or cracks and the painted areas are lovely (please see pics).
I would never forgive myself for selling a fire-hazard; I had the lamp professionally rewired. This base is "Oooold", and the mice had a "field day" gnawing the old time wiring and plug. While I love the look of the original hardware"”I hate the thought of an accidental fire"¦!
The base has been refinished with a splendid metallic gold, as the original, lacquered finish had been literally scrubbed and polished to its very core"”mmm, not attractive"”someone didn't read the label"¦. :)
