Description
I just spotted these at an estate sale"”this little lady had unbelievable taste and had spent a lifetime collecting gorgeous eccentricities!
A cranberry-colored, mouth-blown, forced-hyacinth-bulb-holder is a rarity to be treasured"”let alone a matching pair!!! This gal had an affinity for Asian fineries, too, including these (2) detailed dragon wall extenders"”simply stunning. One can just imagine the thick green leaves of the sprouting hyacinths, exploding out of the (2) cranberry-colored vases!
The mouths' of the vases measure 2 1/2" and they are 4 3/4" at the widest part, with a height of 7". From the top of the vase, to the apexes of both (2) of the rectangular and circular designed chains, the measurements are 10".
The brass dragon, wall extenders are 12 1/2" in length with hinged plates that measures 2"L X 3 3/4"H; they are stamped, "China".
Lastly, the brass "vase" holders are 7"L and have a US Patent #2026950; the patent was issued in 1936!
Most of this gal's collectibles dated from the late 1880's, through the late 1980's.
These vases are NOT from a mold, as they both have the pontil marks on the bottom and no seams.
Each vase and brass set weigh 3lbs. and require 5 screws each to be mounted.
Condition:
