Vintage mid 20th century watercolor on paper abstract painting by Richard Dempsey (1909 - 1987) American. Signed lower right Dempsey, North Carolina, Titled Beach and Reef #8 on verso with artists stamp. Franz Bader Gallery, Washington DC label on cardboard backing. Unframed, displayed in mat with cardboard backing, opening size 24.5" x 18.5", I have included an image of the artist in his studio. Dempsey studied at Sacramento Jr. College, CA (1929 - 1931) & California College of Arts & Crafts (1932 - 1934). Dempsey exhibited extensively through out the United States from 1935 - 1960's. Tape remains on verso
