This large mirror was made by Furniture Studios, Inc., located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Their advertising slogan claimed, "That Kings and Queens could buy no better"; they were in business from 1866 to 1999.
The mirror is in the style of Louis XV, which is defined by its ornate carvings and its Rococo influences"”known for its decorative details, and timeless elegance. This large piece features an elaborate frame with floral motifs, and shell-like shapes. Notice the rich, mahogany color, the old wire hangers, and the manufacturer's marking on the back.
Its size and shape are sure to make an impact"”it reminds me of the furniture featured in the movie, "Beauty and the Beast! ;)
