Vintage Swedish Lounge Chair by Broderna Johansons circa 1960. Fully restored, repadded and reupholstered in a lush burnt orange chenille - Manuel Canovas "Uzes" in Potiron. A very comfortable, ergonomic beauty.


The furniture company Bröderna Johansons FÃ¥töljindustri was founded in Sweden in 1953 by Börje Johanson and his brothers. Starting as a small upholstery workshop, the company rapidly grew to become a prominent manufacturer, emphasizing Scandinavian design and quality craftsmanship. Their pieces, which transitioned to production for public spaces and eventually became Johanson Design, are celebrated for their clean, functional lines and ergonomic design, which often includes the taller, reclined backs and shaped armrests that were characteristic of post-war seating intended for extended, comfortable use.
