The circular tabletop showcases a spectacular contrast in highly figured golden flame birch at the center radiating outward to a perimeter of rich dark flame birch edge with golden elm. This gradient effect and use of prized woods were hallmarks of high-end Swedish cabinetmaking of the era. The contrast is further amplified by the deep, dark-stained hardwood used for the structure.

The piece stands on four beautifully curved cabriole legs, a subtle nod to classical forms, which are connected by a geometric, curved diamond-shaped lower shelf.
