Superb example of a Panzer officer's visor cap. The cap bears a field gray wool body with pink piping at top and on either side of the black side band as well. A silver bullion eagle with dark green backing is sewn to the front, just above aluminum oak leave wreath and cockade. The black vulkanfibre visor is near flawless, and bears a raised texture crosshatch pattern on the underside. Above it rests a double wire chin cord affixed to silver pebbled buttons on either side. Within, the cap is lined in gray and bears a leather sweatband which is blind-embossed 'Deutsche Industrie'. Some brown dye staining from perspiration appears behind the sweatband. A celluloid sweat protector covers the maker's name: 'Kurt Meier Jr.' of Breslau. Fine condition.
