St. Helena Parish, Louisiana, March 21, 1850. One sheet, 6 x 8 in. Manuscript document by Janes S. Williams authorizing "...my husband & A.B. Williams to accepted the titles from Mr. Reny Lea & wife to me for the negro man Charles purchased of them" Creasing from old folds, scattered toning.

No place, April 3, 1849. One sheet, 6.5 x 8 in. Manuscript bill of sale for "twelve hundred dollars...by Hugh Davis...two negro salves. to wit a boy named Daniel aged about 13 yrs & a girl named Anna about 11 years old..." Docket on verso; paper loss to margins.
