(Likely New York), ca. 1880. Original pencil sketch on paper, 12 1/4 x 9 in. (311 x 229 mm.) Political cartoon possibly by Thomas Nast, although unsigned, satirizing a Republican National Convention. Notation at bottom, "6 1/2 inches wide must be done by Wednesday morning..." Scattered toning to margins. In mat and in frame, 15 1/8 x 11 5/8 in.
