Vintage Gold Stone Leaf Brooch, Modernist, Granit & Co, Finland, 1960's. Born in 1930 in Helsinki, Erik Granit was only twenty-four years old when he founded his own company and opened his store in the capital of Finland. For more than three decades of his activity he has created hundreds of innovative minimalist, abstract, geometric and modernist designs. This brooch is appx. 2.25" long and comes to a curved point on top and bottom for the stem and leaf-tip and at it's widest point is appx. 3/4". The weight is appx. 6.24 grams. This has a bezel-set gold stone, oval that is appx. 13mm by 9MM, trombone clasp. It has the Granit & Company cartouche on back, with a crown, the name and additional markings.
