Title: French Art-Deco marmoreal Chandelier Lorrain Daum grande verrerie de Croismar Description: Made in France in the late 1920's early 1930's, this chandelier is signed Lorrain from the grande verrerie de Croismare whose renowned work was highly desired for their chandeliers and art glass pieces. This factory, "Verrerie Belle Etoile," was founded on December 15, 1925, by Antonin Daum to sell products at competitive prices that differed from those produced by the Nancy factory. To further emphasize this diversity, this production was not carried out in Nancy, but in Croismare (near Lunéville), where Paul was the director. In 1927, it was mechanized to produce blown-pressed and molded-pressed glass pieces, signed "Lorrain." Between 1928 and 1934, Pierre d'Avesn produced innovative models in this factory, signed "Lorrain" and "Lorrain/P. D'Avesn."this piece featured an original hand tooled mounting with original glass shade .It is the last time in France that it was possible to produce and offer pieces of this quality; the mass production of the 1950's was just around the corner, and the page was turned on small ateliers, to make way for the age of cost saving. It will fit any modernist interior, and can bring a warmer touch to a pure Eames style furniture set.
