Description
In 1801, under the pseudonym A. Lesage, he published an English atlas that became an instant success. After the Peace of Amiens (1802), he returned to France and released a French edition, Atlas historique, généalogique, chronologique et géographique. The work made him wealthy and eventually brought him to Napoleon’s attention—he later accompanied the emperor into exile on St. Helena in 1815.
This Atlas is a Spanish language edition geared toward the South American nobility and merchant glass feature more information than the original French edition and notably the updated map of the Americas .
