Appealing cartographical toy, consisting of 35 wooden cubes, each side of each cube with a map section pasted on, thus forming 6 puzzle maps of the world, Europe, Asia, Africa, the Americas and France. Laid in a contemporary wooden box, with 6 uncut coloured lith. maps of the continents enclosed as a key. Né le 19 janvier 1829 à Villeneuve sur Béhot ( Seine et Marne) JULLIEN Alexandre Alfred s'installe en 1854 rue St-Denis à Paris, puis transfère son activité en 1865 au 1 rue des Grands Chantiers puis 55 rue des Archives à Paris. Il présente des jouets à l'exposition universelle de 1878, et fait partie du jury aux expositions de Barcelone (1888) et Paris (1889).Après son décès intervenu en 1889 la maison JULLIEN est rachetée par la société DU VAL et LOGEAT.
