Antique African Kota Reliquary Figure (Mbulu Ngulu) Sculpture on Stand

Description

An antique African tribal reliquary guardian figure in the Kota style, known as Mbulu Ngulu. The sculpture features a stylized elongated face with geometric facial features and a distinctive crescent-shaped headdress. Traditionally such figures were placed atop reliquary baskets containing ancestral remains to serve as spiritual guardians. The surface shows aged patina and wear. Mounted on a later display stand.
