comprising a figure modelled as an anthropomorphic monkey standing standing before a tree stump, dressed in 18th century costume of a pale blue coatwith gilt buttons, floral waistcoat, striped breeches and a red, white and lilac cap, the figure holding a bassoon, upon a shaped circular base with gilt rocaille scrolled, with blue crossed swords marks, incised 'N18.' togeher with another his mouth open in an animated expression, dressed in a white tunic, pink striped breeches, and a soft cap with an orange plume, carrying a set of drums on his back, blue crossed swords mark, incised '3', impressed '36'
