Accompanied by an 8.5 x 8.25” sheet titled “Al Hirschfeld – Self Portrait in My 86th Year” with First Day of Issue comedy series stamps and cancellations, also autographed by Hirschfeld.

Al Hirschfeld (1903–2003) was one of the most celebrated caricaturists of the 20th century, best known for his elegant black-and-white line drawings of Broadway performers, Hollywood actors, and cultural figures. His work appeared regularly in The New York Times for decades and became synonymous with theatrical and entertainment portraiture. Hirschfeld was renowned for hiding his daughter Nina’s name within his drawings, a playful tradition that became a hallmark of his art. His distinctive style remains instantly recognizable and highly collectible.
