Johann Jakob Guggenbühl clipped handwritten address panel, dated March 11, 1852, neatly affixed to a slightly larger backing sheet. The address is written in blue ink and directed to Interlaken, Switzerland, reflecting Guggenbühl’s work and travel within Europe during the mid-19th century.
Fine condition.
Johann Jakob Guggenbühl (1816–1863) was a Swiss physician best known for his early efforts to treat cretinism and developmental disabilities. Founder of the Abendberg Institute near Interlaken, Guggenbühl was a pioneer in special education and therapeutic care, advocating environmental and educational approaches to treatment at a time when such conditions were poorly understood.
