Details:
John Singleton Copley, 1st Baron Lyndhurst pair of autograph examples. The lot includes a signed pass dated April 3, 1829, permitting access below the Bar of the House of Lords, and a separate signed letter (LS) dated February 12, 1829, confirming an official matter.
Light age toning and handling wear are present, consistent with early 19th-century manuscript material. Both signatures remain clear and legible, and the documents are well preserved.
John Singleton Copley (1772–1863), 1st Baron Lyndhurst, served three times as Lord Chancellor of the United Kingdom and was one of the most prominent legal and political figures of his era. The son of the American painter John Singleton Copley, he rose to become a leading Conservative statesman and jurist, playing a major role in British legal and constitutional affairs during the early Victorian period.
