Roni Stern-Zamir and David Stern pair of Israeli First Day Covers issued for the 30th Anniversary of Israel’s Independence, each postmarked April 23, 1978, Jerusalem. The covers feature a complete set of five commemorative stamps honoring Abraham Stern, Yitzhak Sadeh, David Raziel, Dr. Moshe Sneh, and Yitzhak Tabenkin. One cover is signed by Roni Stern-Zamir, widow of Lehi founder Avraham Stern, while the second is signed by David Stern, Avraham Stern’s brother. Both have signed boldly in ink beneath the commemorative cachet.

Avraham Stern (1907–1942), founder of Lehi (“Stern Gang”), was a Zionist leader who fought for Jewish independence in British Mandatory Palestine. His wife, Roni Stern-Zamir, preserved his legacy following his assassination by British forces in 1942, ensuring his writings and memory endured. His brother, David Stern, also dedicated himself to maintaining Avraham’s legacy within Israel’s national consciousness.
