Chaim Herzog autographed cover marking his 1986 State Visit to Australia, featuring cachet with Australian and Israeli flags, pair of 36c “International Year of Peace” stamps with visit label, and G.P.O. Canberra circular cancel dated 4 November 1986. Herzog’s bold blue-ink signature appears at lower right—an appealing diplomatic souvenir linking Israel’s head of state with Australia’s Parliament House.

Chaim Herzog (1918–1997) was Israel’s sixth president (1983–1993), a former IDF major general, intelligence chief, and Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations famed for his 1975 speech denouncing the “Zionism is racism” resolution. Born in Belfast and raised in Dublin, he became a respected soldier-statesman and author who helped articulate Israel’s case on the world stage.
